After Care Assistant Teacher

Baxter Child Development Center is searching for qualified individuals to join our team! Baxter CDC is a Nationally Accredited early learning program providing educational experiences and loving care for children six weeks through 5 years old during the school year, and through 12 years old during summer. We are looking to fill a part time after care assistant teaching position.

Job Summary:

The After Care Assistant Teacher cares for children between the end of the school day until parent pick up.


  • Shifts are Monday –Thursday from 3:30pm to 6:00pm(approximately 10hrs/week)
  • $10-$11/Hourly

Job Functions:

  • Assists other teachers with caring for children and doing activities, and assuming leadership in the absence of a lead or assistant teacher
  • Keep communication current with parents and Child Development Center Director
  • Keep classroom neat and tidy
  • Maintain professional attitude
  • Treat children, parents, and other teachers with respect and dignity
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Center Director
  • Adheres to all guidelines contained in Baxter’s Employee Handbook
  • Demonstrates friendliness, dependability and trustworthiness towards others

Knowledge’s, skills & abilities:

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior experience working with children and families

Additional requirements:

  • Position is identified as having regular contact with children in accordance to public law; therefore, a criminal background check must be completed
  • Walking, standing, bending, and carrying of small and light objects
